Welcome to the Whidbey Roost Chapter of the Association of Old Crows

NEWS

At our chapter meeting on August 18, 2010,
AOC President Chris Glaze approved the chapter's petition for a name change to the
Whidbey Roost Chapter.

The Prowler Roost was chartered in 1974 to provide a professional Electronic Warfare (EW) forum for the developing EA-6B
Prowler community. Since 1978 it has participated in all Prowler Symposiums and beginning in 1986 it provided support and sponsored administrative activities for registration and security for the Symposium.

Often called “Whidbey Roost” in recognition of the expanding field of EW and Information Operations (IO) to include our shipmates at NAS Whidbey Island, such as VQ-1 and VQ-2 with their very special EP-3E platform, Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Whidbey Island, and Aviation EW School (AVEWS). Similarly, the “Prowler Symposium” is often called the “EW Symposium”.

The chapter's name was officially changed to "Whidbey Roost" in August 2010 after vote by the chapter's membership.
